What exactly is Poetry United's purpose?

It's true. Passion led us here. The passion for poetry and writing as well as the passion to make a difference. When I look back to how a bunch of aspiring poets my age started out, my mind immediately thinks about the lack of knowledge, support and confidence we had with regards to our poems. We were absolute amateurs and MASSIVE noobs and we had to help each other to get to where we are today. That is why Poetry United was created. This Youth led initiative aims to create a safe space for other aspiring writers. Writers that have the intention of changing society for the better with their writing. Through our webinars and forum chats, we aim to help aspiring writers and poets discover themselves and help each other so that we, together, can move and progress as one. In our webinars and blogs we aim to guide you so that you can reach your destination and so that you get to be part of a community that supports each other contrary to what the rest of the world is doing. We aim to inspire others as well, recognise each others talents and give students the platform and opportunities that they deserve!

Poetry United isn't just a creative space for writers but also for other students with incredible talents. Examples are digital design, editorial work, marketing and etc. This gives youth the opportunity to express their talents on such a creative, open and supportive platform that recognises and accepts people for who they are.
